It's been ages since the last time I wrote here.. I think the las post was in 2006 xD I'm very happy because I'm maybe leaving for a year to Chicago so I'm searching lots of things about what to visit and stuff and maybe find Maura Tierney around or Goran (*drulling*).
Why am I going to Chicago? Because I want to... It is just that i have an aunt that lives there and It's easier for me, if I want to learn to pronounce english in the right way to go there and have some family around... I don't see myself walking around in a city millions of kilometers away from my family, Chile is like 14 hours away from The US and It would be terrifying to find myself alone there...
So what's new with me... That only i guess, because I'm still at school so It's very difficult to have something else to do that study.. because if I want to go to Med School in 2 or 3 years that's what I have to do. =( snif. Anyway I'll try to have fun and that trip is going to help me in if i want to be a doctor in Chicago and work for a county hospital (*dreaming*)

I'm now reading a Lubby fanfic called Worse Case Scenario and I gotta say I'm loving it!
I'm in chapter 4, just starting it. And I pretend to keep reading!

It's been a long time since I read a fanfic. Before this one I read one about Luka and Abby having a girl with leukemia, I think, and I was very good. But I believe that the writer ended the fic, dunno why, and I don't remember either the web site where ir was =S

Now that I'm on summer vacations, I think it will be easier to run this journal and read some fics. And only wait till Thursday arrives to watch ER.

On the WB channel, today, was "How the Finch Atole Christmas"... so, I'm not watching ER until a few days, I watch ER to see some Lubby Love! and Luka. In that episode I think there's a bit of Luka, but without Abby, things are different.

And the episodes are "mixed" (don't know what word to use here, help!!).. cause yesterday was on "The Miracle Worker".

I'm so happy I'm finally having a party!! The last party I went was on June!! JUNE!!

Ahh..
Finally... School is gone! 2 days and I'm going on vacations!
I'm sick of school, I was behind with lots of homeworks and some tests!!
Now, I'm done! everything is ready, my grades are all good, which is really weird because I didn't study much this year.

This Thursday is the party to end the school year and the graduation is on Wednesday.

Now, I just have to relax and have a good time this summer.

I'm also happy because Christmas is so close!! And I love holidays! My favorite time of the year! (But not for the weather, I hate summer). But I'm a little worried because I don't know what to get for my boyfriend, it's so difficult to look for gift if you've never bought christmas gifts!

For these past three days I've been trying to use the internet, but like my notebook isn't very good It didn't work...
So I decided to go to a cyber...
I'm now here... bored.
I was talking to my boyfriend for messenger, but it isn't working because his father is arriving from Cuba (Because they ARE Cuban) so they re very excited and I'm here ored, because he dump me on the internet for his father.
And I understand that, but I haven't talked to him in 3 days and I'm crazy to see him!! :'(

my 3rd day at Pucon

So, today was windy and cloudy... Not a very interesting view of the sky a the volcano.. last night I could see the fire in the volcano, I couldn't see it for very long, though I thought it was nice!
I'm now at the hotel's lobby, there's a lot of people connecting to internet with they notebooks, because the Chat Room is to expensive.
My family is at the pool now, so I'm alone with my loyal notebook.. and that bunch of other people I had never seen before.

THIS WEEK ON ER: SCOOP AND RUN

It’s Thanksgiving in the ER, and everyone prepare for the festivities. Luka and Abby's shared feast is delayed when medical evacuation flight to transfer an older patient flight puts Abby in the middle of a bus crash scene where she earns the respect of the flight crew. As Luka waits anxiously in the ER, as he shares concerns about a worrisome former patient with the police, who have doubts about what he thinks is happening. Pratt turns to Kerry after learning about Chaz, and Gates tries to charm Neela, but Meg adds a sour note.

I'm dying to watch that episode. It looks like is going to be very interesting to watch Abby in that situation. I read before that they crew of the flight isn't going to be nice to her at the beginning, but IT'S ABBY! She's amazing!

I’m now at bed, using my dad’s notebook and this is the most interesting thing i¡ve done today… I’m kinda bored, because I’ve been in Pucon for 2 days and I still haven’t done anything exciting… I have the Casino just in from of my flat and I’ve tried to convince my parents to go but they still are a little tired after the trip on Sunday. Which I understand because I’m a little tired to but I’d love to do something else.

Every time I come here I have a wonderful time, but this time might be different.
Maybe because I have a boyfriend, that I have to say I really miss, especially now that we have been together for more than 7 months; and I don’t feel like staying away from home…
Hope tomorrow’s better…

South of Chile: Pucon

Just arrived from the longest trip I'll make in a few month!
I'm at Pucon, and I guess I'll stay here for a week at least. I'm really happy because I won't have to go to school! And specially because I have a lot of tests this coming week.
Though I'll miss my boyfriend, I hope I have a good time here!
I have the chance to come here just a week or two at year, so I'll try to enjoy It the most.
Next to the hotel I'm staying at, there's another one that has a CASINO!! which I love!! though I can't play, because I haven't turned 18, or 17, or, 16, or 15.. There's no way I could play...
I love it; even if I can't play... I can't drink coffee and watch my parents play.

Now I have to go, I'm paying for 20 minutes of internet and they are gone... NOw

Mina Chiflón del Diablo - Devil's Whistle Mine

We went from Chillán, which is where I live to Concepción (Where we visited the musseum and park Pedro del Río Zañartu) and then to Lota.

Today I went to visit the mine Chiflón del Diablo (Also called "Devil's Whistle"), which is in Lota, near Concepción, Chile
If you read the book Sub-Terra by Baldomero Lillo, you will recognize what I'm talking about...
I was kinda scared at the begining,because the mine is underneath the sea... but I was with my boyfriend and he had visited the mine before, so he told me that it wasn't that scary and he watched my back (in case that the floor was slippery, which it was!)
Thanks god, I'm not claustrophobic! 'Cause I was 850 meters underneath the sea!!
The walls are made of sand, mixed with eggs (...I thought it was weird, too!), and some other materials that I don't remember right now.
They are maintained by wood beams, with which I struck my head like 5 times! (I was wearing a helmet, so I!) Lol!

There are some parts of the mine where the seiling wasn't higger than a meter and a half. My boyfrined that is 1.85 meters tall almost had to kneel, so that he could pass. And of course, he hit his head more than I did!

When we were in the middle of the mine, the guide, which is a former miner, told my group to turn off our lanterns, so that we could feel like a miner felt when the batteries were empty. It was like being blind. Nobody was making any sound, and we couldn't hear the sea either...that was amazing, but at the same time a little weird.. I don't know how to explain it.

I really felt proud to be there, because in the times where the mine was working, only guys could work there, and It was pretty tough to them.
Chileans have a bad impression of what is being a miner and that's was what the miner told us. His life was pretty hard. They worked all day long and they had to live with the minimum pay.
At the age of 11 or ever 8, kids could start working at the mines. At the age of 13 they had some kind of contract.
The miner told us that they used to get sick of artrosis and silicosis

The trip ended with the miner's anthem, here's the translation of a part of it:

” The miners we want to honor to whom it follows the arduous work , working to extract the coal….the coal,… the coal”

This picture I took from an other web site, but it's the same that it's now in the mine. We had to go down in groups of 6! six persons in a cage that small!! This took us 40 meter under.

The tour guide is Don Roberto Rojas, who worked in the mines for 18 years before they were closed in 1997. Behind him you can sea the coal.

In this picture you can see the wood beams that keep the walls in their place.

The only way to comunicate us, in case of problems, was this "phone" which is working since 1934. But the problem with the was that if anyone disconnected one of the phones, they couldn't communicate from any part of the mine.

I'm mad at my english teacher (foreign languages teacher, not the same that teaches communication) ...
like I know a little bit more english that my classmates she doesn't let me participate in the classes and when I do, it's to easy for my level of english.
I'm starting to hate english classes and I always go to chat with my friends, because she's not teaching something I don't know.
Like I know more than some of my classmates they ask me for help and I hate that! Though that's the only way I do something in classes.

Before I had a teacher much better, Mr. Duvell, he was a wonderful teacher. I had the chance to participate and I even had conversations with him during classes to practice and improve my english.
Now the new teacher doesn't even let other students read...
It's really sad for me, because I used to love english and had good grades on that class, now I have good grades but not as good as they were before. I guess that somehow it's important to like the teacher, because if you don't like it, it could cause some consequences like the ones I'm living right now.
From the sunny side, it proves that I can be an exchange student in 2 years! That'd be wonderful!!

I hate Wednesdays. Specially this one... First of all I have physical education every morning. I hate it! I even try EVERYTHING to skip that class. But today I tried to be the good girl and show up at classes...
I had to run 2 turn around the field, so when I was starting the first one I wasn't even a meter away from the beginning and I was ON THE GROUND..
I have injuries in both of my legs and hands. I'm so sad and mad a t the time, because I was really trying to make a good impression (evaluation class)...
Now I remember why I skip physical education classes so much...

Hey!!
First time ever posting in this journal.. I'm so excited!! I'm not much of a writer but I thought i could start writing a little bit more, specially because my first language isn't english.

Let me tell you a little bit about me:

My name is Camila, I'm 14 years-old and I'm from Chile. I dream about becoming a doctor and someday, if possible, join the Doctors Without Borders.

I watch a lot of medical shows on Tv (like ER, House MD)and My father is a doctor, so
I have learn a lot of things and I'd like to learn more.

I'm crazy about ER! I enjoy watching every episode of the series and I love the characters.
I specially like Abby and Luka. Though I think Abby is a more interesting character than Luka, I like him very much. As a couple they're wonderful.
